So Much Information — So Little Inspiration

There is so much information and travel resources available to the consumer today, its truly overwhelming to the average travel shopper.  Instead of driving them to take action, it actually does the opposite, it overwhelms them to the point of indecisive paralysis.

What is the travel consumer looking for?  Its not all that complicated, they want what we all want when we're making an important purchasing decision.
  1. They want to be inspired
  2. They want to be well informed
  3. They want to be assured
Years ago, when "the web" was still a somewhat foreign phrase or in the dark ages before it even existed, the majority of people would visit their local travel agent.  This well-informed human being would sit down with the consumer and share glossy brochures, magazines and all the necessary information to inspire, inform and assure the travel buyer that their investment will be well worth it.

Today, its a new age. The large majority of travelers (research reports say anywhere from 46% to 62% and growing) research and book their travel online.  The responsibility to inspire, inform and assure the travel shopper is largely in the hands of the hotelier.  Are you giving the travel shopper what they want and need to make their purchasing decision?

TRY THIS:
Become the traveler and plug-in some key search phrases for your property as well as destination on both Google and YouTube.  Do the photos, videos and information that come up meet the consumers need to be inspired, informed and assured?  Are you the author of the information and media or are you allowing the consumer to market for you, good or bad, through they're rich media uploads?
